At the far end of an old private library stands a shelf no visitor is permitted to open.

Its books have no catalogue numbers. Their spines bear no titles. And according to the family who has guarded the collection for generations, they were never meant to be read.

When a young archivist discovers a handwritten reference to the shelf buried inside an otherwise ordinary manuscript, a quiet investigation begins.

What she finds is not merely a forgotten collection, but a history carefully concealed across generations.

The Forbidden Shelf is a slow-burning literary mystery about books, inheritance, silence, and the dangerous things that can survive inside a library.
